D.P.Ed, the Diploma in Physical Education, is a structured two-year undergraduate professional diploma program designed specifically to equip students with the skills and knowledge required to become effective physical education teachers and sports coaches, primarily for the primary and upper primary school levels. This vocational course bridges the gap between abstract academic theory and practical, real-world applications within educational settings, serving as a critical entry point for individuals passionate about sports, fitness, and education.

Throughout the four-semester journey, students are immersed in a curriculum that balances theoretical principles with rigorous practical training, dedicating significant hours to mastering diverse sports disciplines such as track and field events, football, cricket, and yoga, alongside learning how to effectively manage a school physical education department. The program covers essential theoretical subjects including anatomy and physiology to understand the human body during physical activity, health education covering nutrition and first aid, and the principles and history of physical education. A major focus of D.P.Ed is pedagogy, where students learn professional methods for designing lesson plans, organizing large-scale sports meets and tournaments, and conducting mass drills and physical exercises, ensuring they are well-prepared to secure employment as Physical Education Teachers (PET) in both government and private schools, as well as roles in fitness training and sports management.
